The ARP will help one understand that with seniority, it is very important to broaden your perspective beyond technical competence alone.
At the practitioner level, we will help you become eligible for writing the TOGAF Foundation Certification exam. In addition we will also provide you with some leadership and professional competence to make you better at your job.
At the Expert level the focus shifts to even more Professional and Leadership topics while continuing to strengthen your technical depth and breadth.
Finally at the Guru level, you will be able to appreciate technology, people and businesses with equal ease.
Research and experience tells us that for a senior technical person, you will need much more than mere technical competence. After speaking to many CTOs, Chief Engineers, and Principle Engineers a list of competence areas were shortlisted. These included technical topics, leadership topics and professional competence areas as well.
In addition the program will also help you become eligible for TOGAF certification. We do this by covering all the modules required for TOGAF certification both at Foundation and Certification levels.
While the program will make you eligible for taking the TOGAF Foundation and Certification level assessments, MaGE will anyway provide you with a Certification stating that you have successfully completed the ARP.
Tests will be conducted at the end of each module to reinforce the classroom learning. In addition you will also be encouraged to take up mock assessments that are based on the TOGAF certification process.
But don’t worry – past participants have normally cleared these assessments with flying colors.
You will also have to submit a Project Assignment. This Project will be executed by you through the duration of the program. This will also be assessed at the end of the program.
Indeed there is a project that you must complete as part of the program. Projects are part of the curriculum at Expert and Guru level. You can either define the problem statement yourself or request your faculty member to help you. If you choose your own project, the faculty will review it and fine tune it so that it meets the rigor of the program.
If you choose to use a project that you are executing already as part of your regular job, do remember to camouflage it adequately, to avoid bringing company confidential information into the class.
Missing classes will of course impact your learning and as such you are discouraged from doing so
However in rare cases where you do have to miss classes for professional or personal reasons, you can learn from the online content provided to you by MaGE. You will of course understand that this will never be as effective as being present in the class and learning from the faculty and your peers directly
Your eligibility to take the TOGAF exams will however not be impacted if you have missed some classes. TOGAF does not have a minimum attendance requirement
You will also appreciate that MaGE will not reimburse any fees for missed classes.
TOGAF does not specifically require participants to complete any curriculum or classroom sessions to take the TOGAF 9 assessments. This program however makes you more proficient and competent to do so
The program is so designed that you can take the TOGAF 9 Foundation Exam after completing the Practitioner level course and the TOGAF 9 Certified Exam after completing the Guru level course. You could also take both exams together after completing the three levels of the program
You will continue to be a part of the growing network of architects. You can continue to be a part of the ARP by contributing to the program by mentoring and coaching fresh minds that join the program. This will help you grow as a professional and promote thought leadership. As a part of ARP alumni, you will continue to network that will provide you with lifelong career connections.
You can register for the expert program from MGAIT offerings to be able to take the TOGAF 9.1 certified certification. But we recommend you to register for both Expert and Guru in order to be trained in the leadership and professional competence required to be become a successful architect.
